Gucci Buyer

Am I the only one who would rather buy a better music player (though maybe not as…..pretty as the ipod?) for half the price?
If I see a guy with an ipod clipped to his hip, I see a $2000 gucci handbag.
I guess I should be ostracized for not buying the same thing everyone else is. I don't get the same status as the ipod people. I don't get to make eye contact with another ipod user and do the 'sup headnod' and revel in mutual awesomeness.
I wonder how much beer I can buy with the money I saved.

remember Rolexes? I wonder how people bought one of those knowing they could have bought a watch that was just as good for half the price. I wonder how many people bought it because it was the only brand they heard of and assumed it was the best.

Everyone has different things that are important to them. I bought my Ipod video 2years ago. For me it was an investment. I don't have to spend money on cds, I can just download songs. Not buying cds to me means less plastic wasted. All my music is in one place.
When I buy jewelry I try to buy things I think are timeless and not trendy things.
I know nothing lasts forever, and I don't buy anything that costs so much I would kill myself if something were to happen to it. I like to have nice things but things from a mall can be replaced.
If you like using a walk-man more power to you. Neither my Ipod nor your beer with last forever.
